How We Make Money
We think transparency here matters as much as anywhere else on the site, so here's the honest, short version.
We Don't Charge Visitors
Reading our guides and submitting an enquiry is free. We never charge you for information, and we never charge you for being put in touch with a broker or insurer.
We're Paid by the Brokers and Insurers We Work With
When you submit an enquiry and consent to being contacted, we pass your details to an FCA-authorised broker or insurer on our panel. In return, that firm may pay us — either a fixed fee for the enquiry, a fee based on whether it results in a sale, or a share of their revenue if you go on to take out a policy through them. Which arrangement applies depends on our agreement with that particular firm.
This Doesn't Change What You're Offered
The broker or insurer you're matched with is responsible for the quote, advice, and terms they offer you — our arrangement with them has no bearing on the price you're quoted or the cover you're offered. We're not involved in that part of the process at all, and we don't receive any information about the outcome of your specific quote unless you choose to tell us directly.
Why We're Telling You This
Plenty of "free" websites are vague about how they actually make money. We'd rather you know upfront: this business exists because we connect people with genuine enquiries to firms who are authorised and equipped to help them, and those firms compensate us for that. It's the same basic model used by many comparison and information sites in the UK — we're just being direct about it.
What This Means for Our Content
Because our revenue depends on the quality of enquiries we pass on — not on pushing any particular provider — our guides are written to be genuinely useful and accurate, not to steer you toward one option. You can read more about how we approach content in our Editorial Policy.
